Dear Parents and Guardians, Welcome to our new academic school year of 2017 – 2018. I thank you for selecting our school. The students have made notable academic progress as we remained focus on the French Immersion Program. Our first school day will be on September 7, 2017. Breakfast will be served from 7:45am until 8:15am. Subsequently, I will hold a brief meeting with students before sending them directly to class. Our two entrances will be used during the first three days of school. The western entrance will be for our Pre-K and Kindergarten classes only. Greeters will direct students and parents to their assigned classes. First through fifth grade students will utilize the Main Entrance to report to our Cafeteria. There will be volunteers to direct students to their tables according to your child’s grade level. We are looking for a smooth opening of school. Therefore, you must follow this short agenda. ·   Greeting to parents, students and guest by Mr. Maurice and a Board Member ·   Introduction of new teachers ·   Greetings by Mr. Mamadou ·   Roll call of students to be escorted to class Parents, we are on a short list of schools to be visited by the Department of Education to observe our first day of school. Our primary objective on that special day is to move our students to class expeditiously. Therefore, Administrators and teachers will not be able to address individual concerns until 9:15am. At that time, Mr., Mamadou and Ms. Bichon will be able to meet with you. I want the Department of Education to witness our overall contribution to the smooth opening of NYFACS. Our Curriculum Night is scheduled for September 13, 2017. At that meeting, you will meet your child’s teachers, and get a good understanding of our Academic Program. As a reminder, Pre K students will be dismissed early on September 7th and 8th. Students in Kindergarten will be dismissed at 12PM on Thursday, September 7th.      Have a great Labor Day Weekend! M.
