How to Apply
The New York French-American Charter School (NYFACS) is a Free, Public Charter School.
You must be a resident of New York City in order to apply for a seat for your child AT NYFACS.
Admission to NYFACS is by randomized lottery in April at the school, located at 311 West 120th Street, New York, NY 10027.
All eligible applications submitted through the Online Common Application/ Schoolmint system are automatically entered into our lottery.
If a charter school receives more applications than seats available, it is required by law to hold a lottery.
The New York French American Charter School electronic lottery will be conducted on April 5, 2021, at 6:00 pm.
Due to COVID-19 precautions, the lottery will be held virtually on zoom. A zoom link/invitation for the lottery will be sent via email and text messages to all applicants.
After the lottery, our admissions teams will start notifying families to register based on their lottery ranking and available number of openings in each grade. Initial registration begins in late April and continues through the end of June.
The application deadline is April 1, 2021. The lottery is completely random with select preferences built-in.
NYFACS Lottery preferences are as follows:
1- Siblings of current or accepted New York French American Charter School students.
2- Children of New York French American Charter School employees.
3- NYC Applicants who reside within the Community School District 3 (CSD3).
4- NYC Applicants who reside out of the Community School District.
* Your child must be four years old on or before December 31, 2021, to apply to Pre-K.
* Your child must be five years old on or before December 31, 2021, to apply to Kindergarten.
