Board of Trustees

Like all charter schools in the state, NYFACS is governed by a Board of Trustees. The volunteer Board provides oversight, support and expertise for the successful operation of the school.

The Board of Trustees meets monthly on second Tuesday of each month, 6:30pm at the school, except noted otherwise.

While meetings are public, the Board reserves the right to hold closed executive sessions when dealing with confidential matters like personnel issues.

The Board of Trustees also maintains committees in targeted areas to expand strategic planning. Committees include: Development, Educational Accountability, and Finance and Facilities.

Parents are invited to attend the committee meetings of the school. The committees act as working groups and are the place where specific action plans and various policies are being developed. The Board fully recognizes the essential role that parents play in the academic success of our students and encourages parent participation in its committees. Depending on your interests and experience, Board committees offer many opportunities to provide input on what is going on in the school premises and make a difference!

Development Committee

Committee charged with marketing, community outreach and fundraising activities.

Meets: on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 7PM.

Educational Accountability Committee

Committee overseeing Curriculum, student learning, and measuring the academic results of the school and its students.

Finance and Facilities Committee

Committee responsible for overseeing the budget, review of financial reports, approval of the annual audit, and supervising the management of school finances. The committee also supervises the management of the school facilities and capital improvements.
